OGRECORDS^™ vs. DistroKid.
Subscription or commission?

DistroKid has been around since 2013 and is the largest indie distributor in the US. OGRECORDS^™ launched in the DACH region in 2026. You reach the same streaming services, but instead of a subscription we take a share of your earnings, and splits aren't capped at four per release.

Up to about €220 a year in earnings, OGRECORDS^™ costs less. Above that DistroKid is cheaper, with fewer features.

DistroKid charges €21.99 a year on the basic plan and takes 0% commission. In return you get at most 4 splits per release, Content ID costs an extra 15% of your YouTube earnings, and there's no sync brokerage or public API. On OGRECORDS^™ there's no subscription and you get up to 100% paid out, with unlimited splits, YouTube Content ID, Sync Marketplace and a public REST API included.

What DistroKid and OG each offer.

24 hours vs. 1-2 weeks.

We send your payout within 24 hours once the balance from our distribution partner is booked, from $50 via SEPA. DistroKid pays 1-2 weeks after the money from the streaming services arrives. With steady streams, your money sits there 7-14 days longer.

Included vs. a 15% cut.

On OGRECORDS™ YouTube Content ID is on by default and included in your distribution, with no extra cut on UGC earnings. DistroKid offers Content ID too, but keeps an additional 15% of all YouTube UGC earnings.

Sync: we pitch, DistroKid doesn't.

We actively pitch your tracks to sync agencies for film, advertising, games and TV. DistroKid has no comparable service.

Unlimited instead of 4 max.

DistroKid caps splits at 4 recipients per release. OGRECORDS™ has no cap, which matters as soon as producers, featured artists, mix engineers and a label all earn from one track.

A REST API for your own tools.

OGRECORDS™ has a public REST API with sandbox, webhooks and versioned endpoints. DistroKid doesn't offer an open API to its customers.
